अक्षय तृतीया को आखा तीज और अक्षय तीज के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। वैशाख मे इस मुहूर्त को बहुत ही उपयुक्त और महत्पूर्ण माना जाता है। अक्षय तृतीया का ये पर्व शुक्ल पक्ष की वैशाख माह मे तृतीया तिथि को मनाया जाता है। इस दिन कोई भी शुभ कार्य किया जा सकता है। जैसे - विवाह और रुके हुए या जरुरी काम आदि। पुराणों के अनुसार इस दिन स्वयंसिद्ध मुहूर्त होता है।
अक्षय का तात्पर्य है जो अविनाशी हो यानि जो कभी खत्म नहीं होता ये वह अनूठा पर्व है जिसमे समृद्धि और शुभ फल अनंत होता है!

अक्षय तृतीया का महत्व :-
अक्षय का मुहूर्त जो की अप्रैल मे वैशाख मास मे आता है इस पर्व का भी अपना ही एक विशेष महत्व है इस तिथि पर यदि कोई भी शुभ कार्य किया जाये तो उसका विशेष फल मिलता है ! यदि इस दिन कोई शुभ मुहूर्त भी न देखे और विवाह, गृह-प्रवेश, वस्त्र-आभूषणों की खरीददारी करनी हो या वाहन खरीदने आदि जैसे शुभ काम करना हो तो वह इस दिन उत्तम माना जाता है और यदि ये पर्व रोहिणी नक्षत्र के दिन आये तो इस समय किये गए सारे दान-पुण्य, यज्ञ, हवन आदि अनंत माने जाते है ! अगर कोई भी मनुष्य इस तिथि को ईश्वर से सच्चे मन से अपने किये गुनाहों की माफ़ी मांगता है तो उन्हें माफ़ी तो मिलती ही है साथ मे भगवन का आशीर्वाद भी प्राप्त होता है!
पुराणों के अनुसार यदि इस तिथि पर कोई भी दान किये जाते है ये सभी दान की गयी वस्तुए आदि दूसरे जन्म मे मिल जाती है ! गंगा स्नान भी इस पर्व पर बहुत महत्व रखता है किये गए स्नान से सारे पाप नष्ट हो जाते है! इस दिन भगवान विष्णु जी की पूजा की जाती है और उन्हें सफ़ेद और पीला गुलाब अर्पण किया जाता है और एकाग्रः मन से भगवन विष्णु सहित सभी देवताओ को याद कर उनसे अपने इच्छा की पूर्ति के लिए प्रार्थना करनी चाहिए ऐसा माना जाता है की इस दिन सारी मनोकामनाएं पूर्ण होती है !
अक्षय तृतीया की मान्यताएं, कथाएँ और इतिहास :-
1.) पुराणों की कथाओ के अनुसार भगवन विष्णु जी ने धरती पर परशुराम के रूप मे जन्म लिया था ! इनके जन्मदिवस को परशुराम जयंती के नाम से भी जाना जाता है और इस पर्व को सभी हर्षोउल्लास से मनाते है!
2.) एक मान्यता के अनुसार ये तिथि माँ अन्नपूर्णा के जन्मदिवस के रूप भी मनाया जाता है! माँ अन्नपूर्णा का पूजन करने से खाने का स्वाद तो बढ़ता ही है साथ ही मे इस दिन घर का भंडार भरपूर बना रहे ऐसा वरदान भी माँगा जाता है !
3.) इस दिन भगवान विष्णु जी की पूजन के साथ लक्ष्मी माँ को भी पूजा जाता है! दूसरी पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार कुबेर जी ने धन को प्राप्त करने के लिए भगवान शिवजी को प्रसन्न किया और इस तप से शिवजी ने कुबेर जी से लक्ष्मी माँ का पूजन करने का मशवरा दिया इसी कारण माँ लक्ष्मी को इस दिन पूजा जाता है और लक्ष्मी यन्त्र के साथ विष्णु भगवान लक्ष्मी माँ और कुबेर की आराधना की जाती है !
4.) युधिष्ठिर जो की महाभारत के पात्र थे आज के दिन उन्हें अक्षय पात्र की प्राप्ति हुई थी! "अक्षय पात्र" से अभिप्राय कभी न खत्म होने वाला भोजन ! वे हमेशा गरीब लोगो मे भोजन का वितरण करते थे ! इसलिए आज के दिन किया गया कोई भी दान- पुण्य बहुत ही शुभ फल प्रदान करता है यदि इस तिथि पर कोई भी पुण्य करता है तो वह कभी भी अंत नहीं होता !

8.) इस दिन सभी व्यापारी भी लेखा जोखा शुरू करते है ताकि उनका भी व्यापर मे भी खूब तरक्की हो !
9.) इसी दिन जग्गनाथ भगवन जी की भी यात्रा निकली जाती है !
10.) ऐसा माना जाता है इसी पर्व से ग्रीष्म ऋतू की शुरुवात होती है !
11.) जैनियों के धर्म के अनुसार इस पर्व को उनके भगवान् ऋषदेव अर्थात जो आगे जाकर आदिनाथ के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुए थे जो की जैनियों के याचक कहे जाते है! उनसे ही संबंधित माना जाता है! इस दिन जैनियों ने आहराचार्य जैसी प्रथा चलायी थी जिसमे जैनी महात्माओ को भोजन पहुंचाया जाता है !
12.) अक्षय तृतीया की एक प्रसिद्ध कथा के अनुसार धर्मदास एक छोटे से गांव का रहने वाला अपने परिवार के भरण पोषण के लिए मेहनत करता! एक दिन उसने अक्षय तृतीया पर व्रत किया और गंगा स्नान कर भगवन विष्णु और लक्ष्मी माँ की पूजा सामर्थ्य के अनुसार की जिसमे जल से भरा घड़ा सूत चावल गेहूं दही गुड़ जौ सोना वस्त्र आदि ईश्वर के चरणों मे अर्पण कर सारी चीज़े मुनियो को दान दे दी ! ऐसा करते हुए देख जब उसके परिवार ने उसे रोकना चाहा जब भी धर्मदास अपनी प्रबलता से दान पुण्य करता रहा !जब भी कोई परेशानी आयी तो वो धर्मदास को कभी भी व्याकुल नहीं कर पायी !
जिससे अगले जन्म मे इन पुण्य कर्मो के चलते राजा कुशावती के रूप मे जन्म लिया जो कि नेक वीरता और बहुत ही सद्गुण आचरण वाले राजा थे ! इस जन्म मे भी कभी अपने कर्मो दान पुण्य आदि अपने कर्तव्यों से कभी हटे नहीं ! और उनके पास इस जन्म मई भी किसी चीज़ की कमी नहीं रही !
