आप सभी ये जानते होंगे की मथुरा से करीब 22 किलोमीटर दूर गोबर्धन पर्वत स्थित है | इस पर्वत को कान्हा जी ने ब्रजवासियो की इंद्र देवता से रक्षा करने के लिए उठाया था | लेकिन गोबर्धन पर्वत से जुड़े कुछ रहस्य और मान्यताये है जिनको सुनकर आपको हैरानी होगी |

1.) गोवर्धन पर्वत का आकार दिन-ब-दिन कम होता जा रहा है, ऐसा माना जाता है कि जब भी गोवर्धन पर्वत समाप्त होगा, उसी समय कलियुग का भी अंत हो जाएगा।

2.) मान्यता के अनुसार गोबर्धन पर्वत की परिक्रमा, हर महीने की शुक्ल पक्ष की एकादशी से लेकर पूर्णिमा तक लगायी जाती है | 21 किलोमीटर की यह परिकर्मा लगभग 7 कोस की होती है  जिसे सप्तकोसी परिकर्मा भी कहा जाता है |

3.) गोवर्धन पर्वत से थोड़ी दूर हरजी नमक कुंड स्थित है | कहा जाता है की कृष्ण जी अपने सखाओ के साथ इस स्थान पर गायो को चराने आते थे |

4.) हरजी कुंड से थोड़ी ही दुरी पर चूतर टेका स्थान आता है जहा भगवान राम जी, सीता माँ, लक्ष्मण जी  और राधा-कृष्ण का मंदिर स्थित है |

5.) गोवर्धन पर्वत की परिक्रमा के दौरान विट्ठल नामदेव मंदिर और फिर राधा कुंड मंदिर आता है। मान्यता है कि राधा कुंड को राधा मां ने अपने कंगन से खुद तराशा था। कृष्ण जी ने अपनी लाठी से श्याम कुंड बनाया था।

6.) कहा जाता है कि राधा कुंड और श्याम कुंड में स्नान करने वाले भक्त के सभी पाप धुल जाते हैं।

7.) मान्यता के अनुसार कृष्ण जी ने सारे तीर्थ शयाम कुंड में विराजमान किये और उस कुंड में स्नान भी किया था |

8.) जब गोवर्धन पर्वत का अभिषेक हो रहा था तभी भगवान जी ने गंगा माँ को गोवर्धन पर्वत पर उतार दिया | तभी से माँ गंगा को मानसी गंगा के नाम से भी जाना जाने लगा |

9.) मान्यता के अनुसार द्वापर युग में गोवर्धन पर्वत 30,000 मीटर ऊंचा हुआ करता था, जो आकाश से भी ऊपर सूर्य को ढकता था। लेकिन यह पहाड़ हर दिन घट रहा है, इस वजह से यह पहाड़ 30 मीटर से भी कम रह गया है।

10.) मान्यता के अनुसार गोवर्धन पर्वत की परिक्रमा करना आसान नहीं है। क्योंकि इस पर्वत के एक घेरे के चारों ओर की लंबाई 21 किलोमीटर यानी 7 कोस के करीब है।

11.) जो भक्त गोवर्धन पर्वत की परिक्रमा करते हैं, उन्हें पहले 5 से 7 किलोमीटर का सफर तय करना होता है। तभी इस पर्वत की परिक्रमा शुरू हो जाती है।

12.) गोबर्धन पर्वत का करीब 10 किलोमीटर को घेरे हुए है जिसमे 5 किलोमीटर का हिस्सा राजस्थान में और बाकि का 5 किलोमीटर उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य में आता है |

13.) गोवर्धन पूजा में पशु धन यानी गाय और बछड़ों की विशेष पूजा की जाती है और अन्न और नई फसल की पूजा की जाती है, इस दिन घरों में गोवर्धन पर्वत को गाय के गोबर से बनाने की भी परंपरा है |

1.) The size of Govardhan Parvat is decreasing day by day, it is believed that whenever Govardhan Parvat ends, at the same time Kaliyuga will also come to an end.

2.) According to the belief, the circumambulation of Gobardhan mountain is done every month from Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha to full moon. This 21 kilometer parikrama is of about 7 kos which is also called saptakosi parikarma.

3.) Harji Namak Kund is situated a little away from Govardhan Parvat. According to believe that Krishna ji along with his friends had come to this place to feed the cows.

4.) "Chutar Teka" situated At a short distance from Harji Kund, there is a place where the temple of Lord Rama, Sita Maa, Lakshman ji and Radha-Krishna is situated.

5.) During the circled of the Govardhan Parvat, comes the Vitthal Namdev Temple and then Radha Kund Temple. According to believe that Radha Maa had carved the Radha Kund herself with her bracelet. Krishna ji had made Shyam Kund with his stick.

6.) It is said that in Radha Kund and Shyam Kund, all the sins of the devotee who bathe are washed away.

7.) According to the belief, Krishna ji had placed all the pilgrimages in Shyam Kund and had also taken bath in that pool.

8.) While the anointed of the Govardhan mountain was being done, then Lord ji dropped Mother Ganga on the Govardhan mountain. Since then Mother Ganga also came to be known as Mansi Ganga.

9.) According to the belief that in the Dwapar era, the Govardhan Parvat used to be 30,000 meters high, which covered the sun even above the sky. But this mountain decreasing every day, due to this  mountain has remained less to 30 meters.

10.) According to the belief, it is not easy to move around the Gobardhan mountain. Because the circled of this mountain is considered to be close to 21 kilometers i.e. 7 kos.

11.) The devotees who do the circle around of the Gobardhan mountain, they have to travel 5 to 7 kilometers first. That's when the move around of this mountain begins.

12.) Gobardhan mountain is surrounded by about 10 km, in which 5 km part is in Rajasthan and the rest 5 km comes in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

13.) In Govardhan Puja, special worship is done for cattle wealth, cows and calves and also new crops, There is also tradition of making Govardhan mountain of cow scat in homes on this day.
